Protecting the Family Through Civic Engagement and Education

Your political tax credit makes our work possible

For over 40 years, Oregon Family Council has worked to encourage and equip the faith community to take an active role in society through the elections and legislative process. Since 1980 we have published the Christian Voter’s Guide, a non-partisan voting resource distributed free of charge to a statewide audience for ballot measure, primary, and general elections. We are thankful for all those that partner with us to make all we do possible.

OFC Voter’s Guide

At Oregon Family Council, our goal is to encourage Christians to vote and to provide them with helpful information so they can make informed decisions on Election Day. That is why for 40 years OFC has made the Christian Voter’s Guide available at no cost to churches and individuals across the state.

Our next voter’s guide will be ready soon. Check back to get a copy for your family or multiple copies for your church.

Legislative Alert

Legislative Alert: S.B. 554

Senate Bill 554, a bill banning concealed carry in the Oregon Capitol and other state buildings, passed in the Senate and is now awaiting passage in the House. If signed into law, this legislation would raise the cost of obtaining or renewing a concealed handgun license in addition to allowing local governments the choice to ban firearms carried by those with a concealed handgun license in public buildings.

The Church & Government Report

We stand united in the belief that God’s approach to life and living is best for all people, believers, and non-believers alike. The challenge for Christian citizens is to demonstrate and articulate God’s approach to society’s challenges in such a way that reasonable people can give them serious consideration.

“It is essential for Christians to be informed and seek wisdom from God concerning how to navigate issues that affect our families, churches and communities. We are very thankful for the ways that the Oregon Family Council helps us do this!”

— Greg Cahalan, Executive Pastor, Good Shepherd Community Church

“I have often said that everyone needs three homes: a Christian Home, a Church Home, and a Heavenly Home! As a Pastor, I am thankful for the love and support that Oregon Family Council has for all three. For almost forty years we have strived together to protect, promote and to proclaim the hope of the Gospel. Oregon Family Council continues to maintain an MVP status at encouraging and equipping the church and faith community to be salt and light until Jesus comes again!”

—Rick Adams, Senior Pastor - Greater Portland Baptist Church
